FORTRESS AUSTRALIA is a four-year-old gelding by Fastnet Rock who has been to the races on seven occasions for one win and one second. His maiden win was just over twelve months ago at Newcastle, and since then has raced quite consistently in competitive environments. He was beaten just over three lengths at Hawkesbury in a BM64 last start and was a close up fifth two starts ago in a Class 1 at Kembla Grange. A BM59 rater in NSW and with eligibility for Class 1 races, there are clearly plenty of opportunities to place this horse up north - the team are confident he will be very well suited to Central Queensland.
Fastnet Rock is renowned for producing exceptional racehorses; he has sired over 100 stakes winners. Additionally, Fortress Australia's Dam, Epidemic, a daughter of Lonhro, was a winner of 5 races, producing 2 foals so far with both racing for 1 winner, showcasing her quality as a broodmare. Epidemic is a full sister to G1 winner, Impending, and 3/4 sister to G1 winner, Lyre.
